Dementia Control Unit (DCU)

The Dementia Control Unit (DCU) is capable of determining when a residents activities fall outside selected parameters, and is able to automatically notify care providers. The DCU provides for all nurse call related connections within the room including Call Buttons and sensors. Sensors include bedroom PIR, ensuite PIR, front door, curtain PIR, external door reed switches and enuresis sensors. The DCU integrates into bedroom and ensuite lighting controls, enabling lights to be turned on automatically if the resident gets out of bed or if they enter the ensuite and turn off all the lights once they get back into bed. The DCU has three states of operation: day, night or manual mode. Each mode is individually programmable to meet the needs of each resident. Each of the sensors is programmable to recognise an alarm as being active instantly or after a predetermined period, to allow for the alarm condition to be reset within a designated period. This period is programmable for day, night or manual mode. Each sensor is programmable for an activation delay of between 0 and 40 minutes, to provide sufficient time for residents to exit their bed, visit the ensuite and return. The DCU supports four overdoor lights and three outputs for activation of lighting. Any callpoint activations or sensor activations will be able to turn on any combination of overdoor lights and lighting controls, to provide automatic assistance to the resident. The DCU provides 12 Volt DC Power, to provide support for third party sensors such as Reed Switches, PIR Sensors, Bed Exit Alarms and Enuresis Sensors. Compatibility: Compatible with Advance Care nurse call systems only. Installation: A qualified technician is required to install this product. NurseCallOnline can assist with installation of this product. Call us today for more information.
